The topic I selected for this paper is firm lobbying. Based on this topic, I will present a reflective discussion on firm lobbying followed by its impact on developing nations. In general, there are a number of researches and peer- reviewed articles have examined corporate political activity, however, sticking to the readings provided was my key priority for identifying the lobbying activities of firms and its impact on developing nations. In reference with the readings provided, one of the strength I identified was that heterogeneity at the level of firm helps in explaining the political behaviour of the company. However, I was surprised to note that politics- based institutions help in shaping the incentives of policymakers for responding to the interests of business. This forced me to assess the fact that business organizations seek to impact policy of government in diversified institution- based setting across the globe, without any doubt (Weymouth, 2012).

As my focus was on developing nations, I had very less quantitative data for factors that drive the non-marketing strategies of companies across the developing economies. However based on theoretical content, I can highlight two main facts to fulfil the purpose of this essay.First, I believe that heterogeneity of a firm helps in explaining the activities of politics and the level of effectiveness. I came down to this fact as there are substantial variations across industries in non-market and market behaviour of firms.
