Ethical issues in research are consent and bias. The respondents will be asked about their consent. Only when they give the consent the respondent views will be factored in the research. Reasons for the research will be explained to the responders. For this research there will be no minors required. Hence consent of guardian will not be required. In spite of best efforts there can be personal bias reflected in the research. Efforts will be taken to reduce personal bias to a minimum. When using secondary sources of data efforts will be taken to factor in the consent of the primary respondents.
Exploratory primary research will be used for this thesis. Owing to this there will be data analysis that helps is inferential and descriptive. More emphasis will be given to developing of the variables and to understand the underlying causes of beliefs. The research attempts to overcome potential conflict situations in companies. Owing to this there should be understanding of the psyche of the people. There is no real need to analyze data quantitatively. Hence data analysis will be conducted to ensure that descriptive data has been obtained.
Potential outcome of this research would be that to develop a management strategy, South Korean people are more adaptable. They are more oriented towards long-term goals and are found motivated by collectivistic ideals. There is a strong power distance index. Western companies should factor in the indigenous culture of Korea while devising the management strategy. Western countries have myopia. They expect all the Asian countries to have the same ideology and culture. This is not true. Even though some aspects are similar vast majority of the cultural practices are found to be different. For a manufacturing company there should be clear directives as to how the employees should function within the company. More than worker autonomy and freedom, there should be respect given to the people. There is a strong western influence in the country owing to this the people are more open towards experiencing western leadership styles. To conclude, individual company should develop best practices that are generic while being empathetic towards the culture of the people.
