The team role assumed is that of the seller. The seller is the person who at this point is tasked with the role of convincing the government to allow the use of their island as a tourism spot. Strenghts: The objectives of the seller with respect to the use of the island have been very clear. The seller does not intend to desecrate the nature and harmony of the island. The island itself has very limited facilities when it comes to being used as a tourist spot and the seller does not suggest any such modifications within the island to support the tourism growth, except for the needed harbor facilities and others. These are works being carried out at quite a distance. The seller stating the objectives with respect to the land has been very careful to point out how none of these modifications would affect the natural value of the island.
The second important strength is the representation of benefits to the island government. The seller has pointed out their benefits and in addition also point out the mutual benefit area for the island government. This ensures that the government thoroughly understands how they could make use of the project. The project is not just sold to the government in fancy words but is in fact sold with an area of understanding, which would be helpful for the government.
The third important strength is the research undertaken. Research was undertaken to understand the tourist response to such a cruise to the island. This helped the seller know the potential of the island and helped fix the higher and lower limits for bargaining. We knew what we would gain and what we would lose in any given situation. In a similar note we also did adequate research to understand what the island government stood to lose or gain. This knowledge was used as selling points to mildly remind the government of what they could gain and lose. There were some well established points that even the Government could not reject as emre sales pitch. These were points the Government knew as a fact, so they knew we had done our research and that our sales undertaking was completely based on this.
