According to Cruz and Marques (2013), these PPP are longer contracts that involved high volumes of investment and are generally developed in terms of uncertainty. These uncertainties have been perceived as a threat. In reality, it should be considered as an area of opportunity. There should be the flexibility and innovation of the contracts that enable the PPP development and productivity. By using the case study of a hospital, Cruz and Marques (2013) stated the numerous benefits of having flexibility and it showcases the importance of having adaptability and pragmatic approaches in dealing with the situation. These changes based on the dynamic events would lead to the improvement in the valuation of the project. Ismail (2013) had undertaken an analysis to examine the success factors of projects. The indices for success factors were found to be different between the private and the public sector. A questionnaire survey method was used to analyse a particular PPP in Malaysia. The number of participants in the study was 179. It was found that in both these sectors the people valued good governance and commitment of the stakeholders, a robust action plan that addresses the legal and economic issues was the main factors which was considered to measure success.
It was found that in both the private and the public sectors, there was commonality of the success factors (Osei-Kyei and Chan, 2015). From stakeholder analysis, it has been found that in almost all of the cases where the project does not mean the objectives, primary issue if the stakeholders are not being aware of the plan (Tang and Shen, 2014).In the cases of longer contractual period, there are higher chances for major events to arise. There is undue importance that should be given to maintain the intangible relationship between the parties involved to handle uncertainty (Zou et al., 2014). Having a relationship management is essential to ensure that there are better solutions to handle issues. More often than not, the management tends to give a lot of importance towards the logistics of the operations rather than building success factors (Zou et al., 2014). Hence, it has been opined that there should be focus given to intangible relationship between the stakeholders to improve efficiency and deal the issues of uncertainty (Zou et al., 2014). The relative importance of each project is based on the management of the companies. The management should provide support and commitment to improve the relationship management.
