In the article titled“Ka Tika a Muri, Ka Tika a Mua? Māori Protest Politics and the Waitangi Settlement Process”, the author illustrates the post and pre conditions of acquisitions of Maori land and related resources and the resulting consequences of the movement. All the resources which were obtained were acquired after having breached terms and conditions of Treaty of Waitangi. In order to compensate the losses and to address the wrong which was done before, rulers of New Zealand are trying to take such steps which may prove beneficial to correct the image which was built because of violation of Treaty of Waitangi. A greater Socio cohesion is among the major preferences of rulers. Author regards it to be a very positive sign that government has abandoned following footsteps of their ancestors. The development of today’s New Zealand society is based on the exploitation of territorial and cultural respect of a large proportion of population (Erueti, 2001). The rights were strictly violated by forcefully acquiring their human resources and land resources. It would not have impacted the ethical values if they have followed an enlightened Treaty Policy Kelsey (Kao, 1999).

To further strengthen the argument (Erueti, 2001) states in his research that the claims of Treaty were responsible for the engagement of communities living there into a competitive war to acquire the resources.
