The range of artworks given under the subject “pre-gender” is still regarded as the foundation for many other feminism based artists around the world.While Femme Maison is a clear output with a combination of female attitudes and body parts, this artwork illuminates the viewer with a clear idea about the human identity and psychology about woman. Femme Maison is indeed a defensive figure that shows the growing number of responsibilities and the need to defend and protect herself from the society.She further believes that communication is the base to any issues related to pre-gender and her abstract artwork is also the result of her experiences and thoughts (Herskovic, 2000).Her concept of feminism has inspired the abstract artists and sculpture makers to develop unique characters around the world to convey the happenings and also give a better shape of woman in the world.The first influence from this artwork is its conversion into sculpture in the year 2001.

The way Femme Maison has influenced the public can be seen through the sculpture that was developed in the year 2001.This sculpture has been encased in a glass box framed with a metal and this structure is termed as cell. Cell is usually regarded as a storage location of memory subjecting to a specific work (Johnson, 2007).Broadening audience is still existing to this artwork and it has also taken various forms to reach the feminists and also to those who work towards women empowerment.The artist did not end with this artwork but has produced a series of artworks under the same subject. Femme Maison series were developed as a means to convey emotions to a better extent and a larger audience. Three figures are developed as a part of this series where the top portion of the female is replaced with different architectures – such as house, building, tower with other parts bearing the responsibilities of the top portion (Deepwell, 2011).The series were chosen as the cover of the essay “From the center” which is again a series given by critic Lucy Lippard.
