休伦港宣言是建立在1960年人民的根本幻灭和沮丧的基础上的一种理论。大学生们觉得他们的声音没有被听到，他们觉得当权派政府不关心他们的价值观。学生们想要改变根植于特权动态的体制，人们对冷战、越南战争等事件并不满意。休伦港的声明是一个信号，告诉政府关心人民的福利。作者试图说明这些事件是在直接剥削人民，利用人民的恐惧继续他们的特权生活。在这些作品中，作者想表达对世界上发生的事件的不满。这一观点是在冷战时期形成的，当时核能的威胁正在世界上逼近。生产力的根源集中在发展可以消灭人类的技术的根源上。

Port Huron Statement is a theory that was developed based on the fundamental disillusionment and frustration of the people in 1960. The college students felt that their voices were not heard and they felt that the establishment government did not care for their values. The students wanted a change from the establishment that was rooted in the privilege dynamics .The people were not happy with the events such as Cold War, Vietnam war. This Port Huron statement was a sign of telling the government to care for the welfare of the people. The author is trying to state that the events are directly exploiting the people and harnessing the fear of the people to continue their privileged life. In these writings the author wants to profess the sense of dissatisfactions with the events occurring in the world. This opinion was framed during the times of the Cold War when the threat of nuclear energy was looming in the world. The roots of productivity were focused towards the roots of developing technology which could wipe out mankind .
The author espouses the values of freedom in the works. Freedom is the basic birthright of every individual. Each individual has the right to live a life of dignity. It is stated in the constitution that “all men are created equal”. In reality the actual events are not according to the values espoused by the constitution. Tyranny, war and the threat of nuclear energy continue to loom in the nations causing the people to live a life of fear . This causes the people to live in continual fear and the powerful establishment. Privileged members in the society continue to harness the efforts and the toils of the people living in the nation. This creates a sense of imbalance and unequal wealth distribution in the societies. Hence the efforts and the toils of the people are going towards the development of weapon technology and fear is leading the people towards inevitable hostile situations. The author is trying to state that the world is controlled by the privileged class.
