Global dairy industries have been offering crucial opportunities of value creation and growth. The key vision is to conduct operations such that benefits are enjoyed by everyone. For the achievement of this vision, dairy farming has to be responsible as well as competitive. Enhancing and defending the competitive advantage of dairy farming is a continuous effort. This is established on the basis of past strategies with specific focus upon major areas enhancing the success of economic performance. The industry has experienced a fundamental shift as there is greater responsibility for outcomes on the overall production process (Dairy Australia, 2014). As a new service, precision dairy farming is being introduced in the business of A2 Milk Company.
This service involves the utilization of technologies for measuring the production, behavioural and physiological indicators over individual animals for the improvement of farm performance and management strategies (Dairy Australia, 2014). Not all of these technologies will be used instead only some will be used such as milk component monitoring, daily milk yield recording, and milk conductivity indicators. Dairy farming has substantial contribution in the economic welfare of Australia and is an important part of the business growth agenda set by the government (Le Gal et al., 2011). Dairy farmers hold the key responsibility of planning for growth with sustainability. They also play a crucial role to see the improvement of the industry in valuing production of milk. This has to be such that benefits are enjoyed by the population of Australia.
