Humans have certain perceptions about nature. They believe and use their worldview in order to interpret the information and formulate the actions which is helpful in decision making process (Braun, 2006). Each and every different culture has different perceptions towards nature. It is important to recognize the different perceptions of nature which is helpful to understand why do the individuals and the societies interact with the environment in different ways. Some of the common perceptions include that everything has been connected with one another in nature (Thompson, 2009). Most of the events are as a result of the consequences of the different actions of human beings which are beyond the understanding of humans. The nature should be treated in a careful manner in order to avoid some of the adverse consequences. Another human perception is that nature is perverse and fragile (Bandura, 1986). According to this view, it is believed that there is a delicate balance of nature which are falling apart in the conditions if the people are changing the ecosystem other than their natural conditions. Fragile means that it is easy to change from one biological community to another. Another human perception related to nature is that the nature is unpredictable (Davis, 1955). From this it can be specified that there are some of the random elements which are the part of the ecosystem.
For example, the people such as the farmers and others generally have a belief that nature is unpredictable. There are many disasters which is seen in terms of the natural disasters and the symbolic basis for the human perceptions of nature. In most parts of the world, the people are still considering the same human perceptions about nature from years. These kinds of perceptions also lead to the exacerbation of the natural devastation in these areas. With the growth of population, there is a further increase in the urbanization (Davoudi, 2012). The human perception of nature is that nature can bear each and every thing quite easily. They overlook something that is leading to risk. This is something that largely increases the chances for the natural disaster. The human perception says that natural is fragile i.e. there can be a change from one biological community to another. Though, this is actually not true. It is important to understand that the nature should not be disturbed as it can lead to the disaster. The belief of the farmers that the nature is unpredictable is true. This is because they do not have any idea so as to when they will be disturbed because of the impact of nature.
