I have spent half a year at the UK, and my experiences as an international student are what I believe motivate me to apply to a prestigious university in the UK, thereby becoming a part of its student community.
Ever since I first came to know of computers, I was fascinated by them. My interest in computers motivated me to take up programming, and I have grown passionate about programming in specific and computer science as a discipline in general. In addition to the same, my cousin happens to be an ardent learner of programming for many years now, and it has been a refreshing experience discussing state-of-the-art, elegant algorithms that can solve any problem within a matter of minutes. It is in this field of expertise that I wish to pursue my higher studies, and a career that will enable me to take up my passion and put it to a productive, enriching fulfilment.
Thus, I took up computer science as one of my subjects during the duration of my study at St. Andrews. The time I’d spent in China as a student also brought me into touch with some of the finest minds in the field of programming and Computer Science. At my university in China, I had to opportunity to mingle with a diverse set of individuals, all hailing from various socio-economic, cultural and educational backgrounds. Such an experience instilled in me the confidence to become an extrovert and enhance the education experience one obtains from studying within a close-knit yet illustrious student community. I believe that the student community at your prestigious university is the most suitable for me to pursue my career, in a vibrant, research-friendly, student-oriented environment.
