According to Classical management theory, workers are like a machine. The employee of lower level simply follows the order of higher level managers. The lower level employee does not have any freedom to choose their work. It does not take into consideration of the experience and opinion of lower level employee. That’s why the business will not be able to meet high turnover. There is a lack of job satisfaction and they will give resignation if they get a good opportunity.Human relations theory was known as behavioural management theory. Human relation theory takes into account the employee’s opinion than the rules, process and procedures. It allows employees to build an interpersonal relationship (Shafritz, Ott, & Jang, 2015). Richard Branson always believes “to work for me” (Branson, 2013). He never follows anyone’s rules. He does whatever he wants to do. In Virgins early day when he hire employees, he gives the same freedom to employees.

Richard Branson’s philosophy helps his organisation to achieve their goals. In the past year, they expand their business successfully in Chile and Poland. They launched new virgin mobile. In Chile and Poland, they follow the market requirements. The top level manager does not give any pressure and order towards the lower level managers to sell their products. After the recruitment process, they made sure that the people hired have a good understanding about Virgin’s goals and unique features. They give freedom to employees to take their decisions. This philosophy of Richard Branson’s helps Virgin to make huge profits. This philosophy also helps to increase brand awareness and positive impact on the larger community.
