In response to mandatory government rules, the A&F textile industry has invested $1.3 billion in the preservation of the environment. Experts supervise constant track on the carbon emission check from time to time. The adherence to the concept of 3 Rs helps the organization to identify opportunities to limit the carbon footprint size. Several areas are checked on, to ensure a sustainable environment (Quaddus and Siddique, 2011). The conservation of water is the foremost important priority in this regard. Steps such as the installation of flow restrictors to flush valves, changing the irrigation volume and the schedule and regulating set points and efficiency of the system has been done in the organization
The HVAC system of control is implemented for energy conservation, which allows the maintenance of tighter set points of temperature. It reduces the boiler, air handling and chillers operations of the unit. It includes the weekend and weeknight schedules of heating and cooling. The replacement of incandescent bulbs by those which are energy saving and have reduced fluorescent lighting. The lighting is controlled with the help of motion sensors and control panels for turning lights off whenever not required (Salzmann, 2008). For pollution control, there are measures to control erosion to aid in filtering the water run-off before entering streams situated nearby.
The reuse and redistribution of resources are undertaken very carefully to ensure the minimum wastage of materials. Efficient ways to reuse products are encouraged. The products which are no longer required are collected from the several departments and redistributed in the places where they are required (Taticchi, Carbone and Albino, 2014).
