The main purpose of the collaborative project was to provide a unique learning experience wherein student groups from distinct disciplines are to work collectively by cooperating to solve an issue set by an external authority. As a team we were to work together for the entire Semester 1 in weekly sessions provided in the time tables. The teams were guided through tutors on academic basis and each individual team was supported to schedule meeting with the champion of the project. From the very first day of the scheduled meeting, it seemed that all my team members were quiet serious and enthusiastic, as none were absent and each had vigour to take part in the discussion within the scheduled meeting (Riley-Douchet et al., 1997). As a team member, the primary learning that I gained was to learn from other team members and develop skills of working together as a team rather than engaging in conflicts against each other. Problem solving skills also played an essential role at the beginning of this collaborative project. The collaborative project that our team collectively selected was Speedo and Children (5-10 years).

The aim remained in engaging and entertaining kids as well as their guardians in order to help them improvise the experience of swimming. The team agreeably decided that this would be processed by studying the research and surveys on the influence of swimming on kids and parents and by conducting more of such surveys. This collaborative project was aimed at improvising the swimming activity engagement and motivating more individuals to take part in swimming. The entire team was convinced that swimming is an activity that is essential to learn by all age groups, as it does not have any negative influence. Some people do have fear of water and therefore they do not like swimming and it was this group of people that our team tried convincing through our completely referenced research illustrating credible facts. First our team was faced with the dilemma of who to select as the participants for the study. One of our team mates suggested selecting those children who do not like water, as adults generally like swimming and prefer it as an activity. We all agreed to this.
