In the current times there has been an increase in usage of the resources, this has lead to sustainability issues. Increase in urban development has lead to the increase in the utilization and exploitation of the resources. This will lead to scarcity of resources (Howden-Chapman, 2015). Another contention is that this would lead to the close of aesthetically value and the cultural value of the place.
Inherent weakness of this fact is that there is a growing population and their needs should be factored (Milligan et al., 2015). Economics of a place is important for sustainability of the financial aspect of the community. Current situation is not feasible and will not be able to meet requirements of the future (Kelsey, 2014). People are blindsided by their passion towards economic sustainability and do not consider the economics of the situation. Proponents of the housing project are not considering the ecological stability and the views of the majority of the people. This is the weakness of this ideology.
Local councillors seems to be representing the views of the majority and do not seem to consider the gravity of the current situation. There is no real solution proposed by the politicians. They seem to echo the views of the people and there is no real solution. This can be problem for the companies (Kelsey, 2015). According to the principles of resource management there should be effective management of the resources and at the same time the ecological stability of the place should be factored. Rampant development will actually lead to the detriment of the community at the same time no development will also be equally detrimental. Local councillors and the governmental bodies should develop a more robust plan that will be beneficial for the community and also for the economics of the place.
Proponents for the housing project and the people in the community seem to factor in the ideology of economics. There is a strong capitalistic view that has been discussed by the proponents. They are also trying to address the issue of population expansion and the need of increased transportation of the majority of the people. They however do not seem to factor in the ideology of the people and also about the ideology of economic stability. On the other hand the people who want to stop the expansion want to focus on ecological and environmental issues along with considering of the aesthetically value of the place. The weakness in this theory is that there is no real consideration given to the economics. Local councillors seem to echo the views of the people and offer no real solution that would address the issues of population expansion, economics and also aesthetical value of the place. These factors prove to be detrimental to the communities.
