In the lecture, there will be an investigation of how there is evolution, change and amendment of language. The relationship between speech and writing helped in the empowerment of social web that had been explored in this lecture. The lecture moved on for discussing the dispersion and proliferation of online image, while juxtaposing classic theory of photography related to the technology of internet, and to explore the concept related to poor image. When there is a consideration of language, at times there is reference of spoken language or speed, at times written language. Can these be considered different?
As a matter of fact, as mentioned in the lecture, speech is heard and spoken, while writing is read and written. However, there are a number of other differences. Speech can be traced back from the beginnings of mankind, as a matter of fact, a number of years ago. Writing can be considered significantly recent, however, the first invention took place by the Sumerians, approximately during 3,200 B.C in Mesopotamia. Since then, the idea to write has spread across the global and different systems of writing have been evolving all across the globe.
Every individual has the ability of speaking. But prior to the invention of Sumerian, people had no idea about literacy. Even in the current setting, there are a number of non- literate groups, and a number of non- literate individuals in societies of official literacy. All across the globe, individuals all across the globe started to speak by the initial two years in life span. There is an involvement of a number of abilities probably genetically, instead of being learned. The understanding and learning of writing can be built typically to learn in speaking. Speech involves two different categories of basic units that are units of sound or phonemes.
