I would like to argue with Sir Robinson’s speech in the sense school has always been a place for learning new and creative things. Whatever buildings and mind boggling infrastructures we see around us were dreamt and built by educated individuals who were creative in their thinking too. And this education they must have obtained in their schooling only. So, school and teachers does not limit creativity and innovation, it all depends on the ability of student to express his creative nature. According to him, learnings in school are only focused towards obtaining higher grades and passing the exams, but this is not so, when you are in a school and want to move to higher classes, then exam have to be passed anyways but this does not kill creativity by any means. Students can use his knowledge of mathematics and science in real day world scenarios to be creative.
