In case of Interpersonal Communication, sharing of ideas is done by making use of symbols in the form of writing, talking or gesturing. Interpersonal Communication refers to communication which occurs between groups of people and a personal bond is created between them. In Interpersonal Communication, action of one person has affect on other person’s action. Three important skills which are necessary in Interpersonal Skills are: Listening, Feedback and Questioning. Importance of these skills is covered in the report and also the potential challenges and recommendations are included. The term ‘Interpersonal’ in Interpersonal Communication could be fragmented into two words namely ‘inter’ and ‘personal’. Interpersonal communication tends to create a connection amongst the individuals in such a way that actions of one person impact and reflect the actions of the other individual (Mortensen 2008). The personal component of the word means that the interpersonal communication encompasses paying detailed attention to the circumstances and the features which result in making the participants as a unique individual.
Interpersonal Communication may occur face – to –face or via phone calls or text messages etcetera. When the interaction between groups of people is occurring face – to – face, communication is carried out both verbally and non – verbally by making use of body language and gestures.
