System software is a category of program compatible for computers, designed for running the application programs and hardware of the computer. In considering the computer system as a model consisting of layers, the system software can be identified as an interface between the user applications and the hardware (Sato et al., 2010). With the overall development of technology, the categories of users for system software has widened as well. The two users selected for the context of this assessment are Service Manager and IT employee. Advancement in the information technology based on computers since recent times, have resulted in a number of system software used by managers. These systems are crucial for taking and further ahead implementing the key decision (Felt et al., 2014). Hence, this increases the need to assess the feasibility and adequacy of some system software comparing it with others.
The assessment is conducted to finalize the decision in choosing a software system so that it is appropriate for multiple users and the two users selected in this context are service manager and IT employee. This will be useful in providing the users with technical suggestion, while deciding the better choice of system software. An assessment will be conducted for two different operating systems for the Service Manager and the IT employee. The service manager holds the responsibility of managing the services of an organization and hence, there is a requirement of some computation. This involves the use of certain techniques and mechanisms for the purpose to manage services. These are more often different in terms of operating system. The other user is an employee from the IT department who is responsible for managing certain activities and tasks assigned to him with respect to Information Technology (Condori-Fernandez et al., 2009).
